Transformational Overseas Experience

My very first time traveling abroad was as a high school student when I was an exchange student in Germany for a year. Living with a host family and attending high school in another country was a transformational and humbling experience, and it shaped the direction of my life. Inspired by that first experience, I studied abroad again in Germany during college, then following graduation, served in the Peace Corps in Bangladesh and Ukraine. It was through these experiences that I became personally and professionally interested in the role education has in preparing youth for life as citizens in a global society. I have pursued a career in international higher education ever since, working with both domestic and international students in their own transformational international and intercultural journeys.
